KnowledgeForum Serial Number Generator

It turns out that the SN Gen app was on www2. I was able to grab the files and copy them to Transfer. Files are: /Library/WebServer/CGI-Executables/gensernum.cgi /Library/WebServer/Documents/license/cal.htm /Library/WebServer/Documents/license/calendar.htm /Library/WebServer/Documents/license/kforumsn.txt Need to tweak firewall (ipfw) to secure it now.

KF performance problems continue.

User reported KF was unusable between the hours of 11:00 – 1:15. Checked MRTG graphs, nothing at all. Poured through the config file. Increased the number of DB connections to 16. Also increased the logging detail to “debugging” level.

Kfserver now behaves when rebooted.

Was able to test changes made Monday, to kfserver01. After editing the startup script to run as the correct user, KF now ignores stale lock files left from abnormal shutdown.

KnowledgeForum does not start DBs after power failure.

Because Lock files remain in place, simply turning on the system is not good enough. You must kill kforumd, delete the lock files, and then restart kforumd. Tested killall -HUP, after deleting locks, and that was not good enough.

More Nagios tuning…
